Born in Cilfynydd, Pontypridd, and shaped by a lifelong passion for storytelling, David E Owen brings a rich and varied background to his writing. After qualifying as a teacher of English and PE, they began he career at a grammar school near Slough. His interest in IT and Drama led to a joint MA in both fields and, ultimately a switch to teaching ICT for 30 years, during which time he also took on roles as a Drama specialist. This blend of creativity, technology, and education fostered a deep understanding of narrative, structure, and imagination.
His first foray into writing began in the classroom, crafting short stories to inspire students’ creativity. This small spark grew into The Prophecy Stones, an imaginative 5-part fantasy series set on a mysterious planet where the population is divided into Belongers and Arrivers. With its unique blend of magic, vivid world-building, and strong female characters—both heroic and villainous—the series showcases David E Owen's talent for creating immersive and original stories that transport readers to extraordinary worlds.
Recently, David E Owen transitioned to the spy thriller genre, a challenge that brought a new focus on realism and research.
